"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
"Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed."
"Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent."

I look at those quotes and I wonder who really came up with them. Was it MLK himself or some artistic writer saying things he/she didn't really believe in?
Yeah I know, this comment is off the wall but I can't help but wonder about the folks who came up with those lines. I do know most of the speeches are not written by the presenters themselves.
I get what you mean.....
But in the end, it boils down to the power of those words....and I think they are very motivating..
donzman, you take away the beauty of words if you start diagnosis like that.
@ nilla- here's one for you-"no one can make you feel inferior without your consent".
loved the pool house pictures too.
Those are very quotes that if I remember correctly I have quoted many times...Good job girl...!!!
i particulary paused to reflect on the second one about darkness, light, hate and love.
we ll have a better world if more people truly understand these and live by them.
