The Pursuit of HappYness

First things first...

I hope you all had a nice christmas? I did.

It was sad news though to hear about the Pipeline Explosion in Lagos...I'll like to observe a moment of silence for those that lost their lives.
I also pray for the families that lost loved ones.

I saw The Pursuit of Happyness over the weekend, and it is GREAT. It's a movie for all to see. If you haven't seen it yet, plan on doing so and you won't regret it.
While on the subject of Happiness....My Recommended Blog reading for today is On Happiness by BOA

THANKSGIVING

Its 5 days to the end of the year and i thought it would be nice to just thank GOD for a wonderful year.

-I thank God for family, friends and relations

-I thank God for seeing me through school

-I thank God for my job (most of you know how hard it is for international students to get jobs over here)

-And finally I thank God for loving me .

----------------------------------------------------------------------

NEW YEAR's RESOLUTION

I won't even make it long, cos i hardly keep them. But I'll really like to..

-get @ least 7 hours of sleep @ night

-eat more salad

-and last but not the least, walk in happiness and not pursue it.

found that the ultimate aim of life is to maximize happiness. I asked myself I said... where is it? where do I find happiness and I realized it was inside, true hapiness I mean. I read a book called Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Album. That book is a must-read. There's one part where he said "If the culture doesn't work for you, create yours..." Being yourself and accepting where you are disregarding external influences. True happiness lives within.

@ Mack,

You're right!! happiness lives within....its also visible for all to see (i think), and happiness is what you make it to be.

Lolll..I love the New year's resolutions because they are not ridiculous. I'm gonna try real hard not to make any ridiculous ones (because they never work out)...I especially liked when u said, "walk in happiness and not pursue it."

I also love the thanksgiving to God, reminds me I have so much to be thankful for this year.

I heard of the pipeline explosion last night, may God comfort the families affected...
